  • Camcon II took place April 2-4, 1987 in Atlanta, Georgia with the theme: "Church Applications: Moving Ahead". The Conference, at the Radisson Inn and Conference Center, attracted 461 participants from 15 Christian denominations.

Camcon II included 3 Plenary sessions and 32 Workshops. What follows is the content of one of those Workshops, namely Workshop 2.7, which was held Friday morning, April 3rd at 8:30 am to 10 am. In addition to the five presenters and the Volunteer Facilitator, Ms Susan L. Sanders, there were approximately 40 people attending this workshop.

There were some very unique aspects to this workshop. All the preparation for the conference had been done electronically, including the negotiations with the conference coordinator, John DeBoer, regarding the style and content of the conference. Each presenter was asked, via electronic communication, to bring with them a "two-page overview" of the history of their Church with computer communication.

This was the very first attempt to document the history of the "online communication" by [North American] Churches. It was also the first occasion that a number of Churches had shared such information. The participants realized they were "making history".

What follows is an edited version of the proceedings, in the order in of the workshop.
